I just bumped into a lime tree where the bark is semi prepared. The tree is dead and still standing. The bark has started to rot and all the fibres and becoming exposed. In just pealed of great length with my hands. What a great find.
Here is a photo from near by of a fallen Lime with suckers growing up.

I have just spent my first night in my new DD Hammock, it was amazingly comfortable, took a bit of time to get used to the lack of space. However I was toasty warm, I could lay on my back, side or front. Being new the hammock was still stretching into shape and by morning had sagged a little.
A hammock has other advantages, you are off the floor so you don’t get damp/cold from below, the ground does not need to be flat or level. The big disadvantage is that you need two trees!
I was talking to someone and they suggested adding a carabiner to make it easier to tension once I have worked out a good system I will post about it, there are a few ideas on the web already.

DD Hammock pitched and ready to use.
The hammock is far superior over sleeping on the floor, this wins hands down, a big thumbs up from me.
